Anamika Chowdhury,is a visual storyteller and documentary photographer, born and raised in Dhaka,Bangladesh and currently based in Florida, United States. Her photography uses a humanistic vocabulary to explore complicated social and political topics by getting close to the subjects both physically and psychologically while addressing several challenges and inconsistencies. By appropriating a common documentary language, Anamika, who is expressionistic in style and long-term in approach,frequently experiments outside of the norm and explores the potential of fiction. She attempts to articulate her thoughts in a broader perspective. After Pursued Master’s degree in Chemistry from National University of Bangladesh, received a professional degree in Documentary Photography from Counter Foto-A Center for visual Arts. She has awarded with the Director´s Fellowship to attend the One Year Certificate program in Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism at the International Center of Photography (ICP)New York.
